BASICS: A garden inside a traditional village of Apokoronas in Crete with a plot size of  820 m2. We started with a construction from scratch. 

INITIAL SITUATION: The house was newly built, so no garden existed before. The advantage was that the landscaping hard constructions could be adapted to the garden plan as well: the wall separating the pool area from the garden (safety reasons for children) was implemented into the entire garden design. So today it is not just fulfilling a function, but it is also part of the garden design as it enflames the main seating area.

A big benefit: Two different Mediterranean lawn alternatives create green carpets where the children can play and at the same time it is low maintenance and environmentally friendly. Two old trees were kept and implemented to the design. Today they create the main structure for a seating area in the shade.

Rockery at pool was implemented: herbs and flowers plus shady place under the trees (hammock place). Fruit trees for shade, fruits and implementing (“reducing”) the shed
